The goal is to sign one partner by the end of June and the other one in early Q4. IBBS is looking for partners that have experience in offering products or services to the cable industry, that are financially stable and that share IBBS's customer service philosophy.
Today IBBS has over 15 customers in Latin America and plans to add 10 more by year end. The company's third largest client is located in Puerto Rico, and the customer base also includes IBW, CableClub, Convergence, Intercentro, Caribbean Cable, Le Cable, TC Express, OneLink and Bermuda Cablevision.
Having launched operations in 2001, IBBS offers operational support software and back office services. Cornerstone products include Customer Care and Support Service and the Broadband Explorer - a software platform that enables operators to rapidly launch new revenue generating services, provide customer care and ensure high levels of network availability while minimizing capital and operational expenses.
The company's offerings are based entirely on a software as a service model (SaaS), which, according to Jiménez, is ideal for its target market, second-tier cable operators, in their efforts to compete with industry leaders.
"SaaS allows our cable operators to better measure what their expenditure is going to be and better control their costs. In addition, our company was started by people coming from cable operators, and that is not only unique but also an advantage because we built our SaaS with the understanding of how a cable operator runs the business," she added.
IBBS is targeting Latin America for "very aggressive growth," as according to Jiménez there is high market penetration, and the Arpu in countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Central America, Mexico and some in the Caribbean is even higher than in the US.
"We started thinking that these operators would be able to afford our service. So Latin America popped up as a good market, and we have began to develop it," she added. IBBS' global annual revenue is approximately US $30mn, and according to Jiménez the goal is for Latin America to represent some 5% by the end of this year.
